Bulgarian experts will train Ukrainian statisticians in the field of Business Statistics

Diana Yancheva, Director, Business Statistics Directorate, and Gergana Maeva, State Expert, Short-term Statistics Department, will train their colleagues from the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine on 18-21 July 2011 in Kiev.
During the 4-day expert mission, EU Requirements and NSI practice related to the annual Structural Business Statistics (SBS) survey and the monthly and quarterly Short-term Statistics (STS) surveys will be presented.
The main topics of the training will be:
• Legal basis – EC Regulations, concerning Structural and Short-term business Statistics;
• Organization of surveys, applied sampling technique in Short-term Business Statistics;
• Questionnaires used for data collection;
• Definition of indicators and their compilation;
• Estimation and control of the quality of the SBS and STS indicators – preparation of quality reports;
• Single entry point – main objectives and steps in its building.
The expert training is requested by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. It is organized by the European Commission under the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) for the implementation of the acquis.
For the first time NSI experts participate as trainers within the framework of the TAIEX instrument.
The selection of NSI as expertise provider is a further evidence for the well-established image of Bulgarian statistics not only within the European Statistical System, but also for the countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
