The provisional working meetings of the 96th Conference of the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States (DGINS) have started

The NSI President – Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva welcomed the participants. Mr. Walter Radermacher – Director-General of Eurostat wished success and constructive work at the forum and thanked for the good conditions provided for carrying out the event.
The provisional work of the Conference started with a meeting of the Sponsorship Group on “Measuring Progress, Well-being and Sustainable Development”.
The Conference will be opened officially on 30th September from 9:00h in Boyana Residence, at which the Prime Minister of Bulgaria - Mr. Boyko Borissov will be present.
The discussions will continue by considering the priorities for the next Multiannual Programme and the priority setting in the European Statistical System (ESS) up to 2020.
The 6th European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) meeting and the Joint Committee Meeting EU - Switzerland will be held on 1st October 2010.
