Turnover Indices in Services in First Quarter of 2012
According to preliminary data from the first quarter of 2012 the total turnover index for section “Transportation, storage and post”, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data was 4.4% higher than the previous quarter. In section „Information and communication” the turnover index decreased by 0.7%.in comparison with previous quarter.
Indices of producer prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture, First quarter of 2012
The index of producer prices in agriculture increases by 4.9% in the first quarter of 2012 as compared to the same quarter 2011. Increases were registered in the livestock production by 9.9%, while in the crop production index decreased by 4.2%.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the first quarter of 2012 is 8.1% above the same quarter of 2011.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the First Quarter of 2012
The average quarterly total income average per household member during the first quarter of 2012 is 960 Levs or by 10.6% more compared to the same period of 2011.
The total expenditure per household member during the first quarter of 2012 is 888 Levs and it increases by 14.7% in relation to the same quarter of 2011.
The consumption of main food products average per capita doesn’t change significant during the first quarter of 2012 compared to the first quarter of 2011.

GDP in the first quarter of 2012 increased by 0.5% compared to the same quarter of 2011 and remains at the same level compared to the fourth quarter of 2011.

The consumer price index (CPI) in April 2012 compared to March 2012 was 100.2%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.2%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in April 2012 compared to March 2012 was 100.2%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.2%.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, First Quarter of 2012
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of March 2012 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 1.3% as compared to the end of December 2011 and reached to 2.10 millions. In first quarter of 2012 in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2011 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 0.6% getting 731 levs.

Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the First Quarter of 2012
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the first quarter of 2012 the number of newly built residential buildings was 601 and compared to the corresponding quarter of 2011, their number was unchanged.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in March 2012
In March 2012 1 687 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - March 2012 (preliminary data)
In the period January - March 2012 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 1.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 3.6 billion Levs while the imports increased by 9.9% and amounted to 4.5 billion Levs.
In the period January - March 2012 the total value of the exported goods (both for third countries and EU) reached 9.0 billion Levs. Compared to the corresponding period of 2011 the exports decreased by 3.3% while the total value of the imported goods was 11.2 billion Levs and increased by 8.9%.
