Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in July 2012
The consumer price index in July 2012 compared to June 2012 was 101.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 1.5%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2012 compared to December 2011) was 2.1%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices in July 2012 compared to June 2012 was 101.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 1.1%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2012 compared to December 2011) was 1.8%.
Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Second Quarter of 2012 (preliminary data)
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2012 the number of newly built residential buildings was 520 and compared to the corresponding quarter of 2011 their number decreased by 26.3%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in June 2012
In June 2012, 2 300 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, Second Quarter of 2012
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of June 2012 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 2.3% as compared to the end of March 2012 and reached to 2.15 millions. In second quarter of 2012 in comparison with the first quarter of 2012 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 3.7% getting 758 Levs.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - June 2012 (preliminary data)
In the period January - June 2012 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 7.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 7.8 billion Levs while the imports increased by 13.0% and added up to 10.2 billion Levs.
In the first six months of 2012 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 19.4 billion Levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2011 the exports increased by 2.8% while the total value of all imported goods reached 24.5 billion Levs and grew by 12.9%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - May 2012 (preliminary data)
In the period January - May 2012 the Bulgarian exports to the EU kept the level of its value from the corresponding period of 2011 and amounted to 9.6 billion Levs while the imports increased by 9.6% and exceeded 11.6 billion Levs.
In May 2012 the exports to the EU increased by 5.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.1 billion Levs while the imports grew by 15.8% and added up to 2.7 billion Levs.
Construction Production Indices in June 2012
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, in June 2012 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 1.8% below the level of the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in June 2012
The preliminary data show that the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted decreased by 0.8% in June 2012 as compared to May 2012. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 1.5% in comparison with the same month of 2011.
Consumer Survey, July 2012
In July 2012 the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 7.8 percentage points compared to its April level, as for the urban population the increase is 9.1 percentage points and for the rural population - 4.6 percentage points.
