In September 2013 the total business climate indicator preserves its level from the previous month as the inquiry reports an improvement of the indicator in industry (by 2.6 percentage points) and worsening in construction and service sector (respectively by 2.5 and 2.2 percentage points).

Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in August 2013

In August 2013, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 447.8 thousand or by 8.5% above the registered in August 2012. The trips with other purposes (as guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 44.3%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purposes - 36.0% and with professional purpose - 19.7%.
In August 2013, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 710.5 thousand which was by 4.4% above the level in August 2012. An increase was registered in the visits by all observed purposes: professional - by 7.6%, for holiday and recreation - by 5.9%, and with other purposes - by 1.1%.

Construction Production Indices in July 2013

According to the preliminary data, in July 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.0% above the level of the previous month. The working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 6.8% in comparison with the same month of 2012.

Industrial Production Indices in July 2013

The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted increased by 1.7% in July 2013 as compared to June 2013. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fall by 2.6% in comparison with the same month of 2012.

Activity of Accommodation Establishments in July 2013

In July 2013, 2 739 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country (Annex, Table 1). The total number of the rooms in them was 124.0 thousands and the bed-places were 278.9 thousands. In comparison with July 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 8.8% and the bed-places in them - by 2.6%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments amounted to 5 027.0 thousands or by 3.7% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in July 2013 reached 208.7 million Levs or by 8.6% more compared to July 2012.

Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - July 2013 (preliminary data)

In the period January - July 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 10.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 10.1 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 0.3% and added up to 11.8 Billion Levs.
In the period January - July 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 24.8 Billion Levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports increased by 8.0% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 29.1 Billion Levs and increased by 0.5%.

Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - June 2013 (preliminary data)

In the period January - June 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 6.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 12.3 Billion Levs while the imports from EU decreased by 6.8 Million Levs and added up to 14.4 Billion Levs.
In June 2013 the exports to the EU increased by 1.4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.0 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 3.1% and added up to 2.6 Billion Levs.
