At the suggestion of UNESCO, November 10 is designated International Accountants' Day.
The ‘father of accounting’ is considered to be Luca Pacioli, who on November 10, 1494, published his work "Summa de Arithmetica". In Bulgaria, accounting began to develop in the 19th century. The authors of the first accounting book were the brothers Hristo and Stoyan Karaminkovi. It was published in 1850 in Constantinople.
In 1884, the discipline of ‘Accounting’ began to be officially taught at the Trade School in the town of Svishtov. At that time, the first professional accountants appeared in Bulgaria and the foundations of specialised accounting services were laid. Today, ‘accountant’ is one of the most common and sought-after professions. Not only the success of the individual enterprise but also the economy of the whole country depends on the precise and competent work of accountants.
Happy holiday!
