One fifth of population counted electronically to this day, women more active than men

As to 6 a.m. today, 18th September, 1 327 801 persons got counted electronically or it is one fifth of the population in the country. They live in 584 236 households throughout the country.

625 245 persons got registered in the e-census system, out of which 59.4% are women. The most active are the women between 40 and 49 years. The registrations made by men are 40,6%.

The greatest percentage of people counted are those in Sofia – over 30% of the residents in the capital city and the region. 23% of the inhabitants of Varna region got counted electronically and more than 17% of those in Burgas region, followed by the residents in the regions of Stara Zagora and Plovdiv. The lowest activity is in Kardzhali where hardly 7% of the people in the region filled in the online questionnaire.

At 8 a.m. today the enumerators started going the rounds of their allocated sections. They will work from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m., also at weekends. Their first task is to record the buildings. The enumerators will count only the people who did not get counted or do not want to do so on their own by the electronic questionnaire.
