Exhibition with infographs and data about all population censuses held in our country was opened in Ruse. It is located at the town central square, in front of the Court Palace and it was opened at the presence of Ruse Municipality Mayor Pencho Milkov and representatives of the regional statistical office.
The exhibition is related to the 18th population and housing census in Bulgaria to start on 7th September 2021.
Such exhibition was also organized on the Lovers’ Bridge near the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. On 13th September it will be opened both in Plovdiv and Varna at the same time.
30 panels in both Bulgarian and English reveal the huge wealth of demographic and socio-economic data that national statistics have collected over the course of the censuses. How much is the population of Bulgaria, how many are the men and women, what is the number of households, in what dwellings and under what conditions do Bulgarians live, what are their professions, educational level and economic activity, how many centenarians are there in Bulgaria - these and many more interesting facts are told by the infographics, which the National Statistical Institute has prepared in order to acquaint all curious citizens with the life of the Bulgarian society from 1880 to the present day.
Data presented in the exhibition are one more evidence for the role of censuses in the history of our country. Not chosen by chance is the slogan of the current census: “Be part of it, you count!”.
