At the event, the President of the NSI Sergey Tsvetarsky, who will chair the working party meetings during the Bulgarian Presidency, presented Bulgaria’s priorities in the field of statistics and described how he intends to continue and build on the work of the Estonian and the previous Presidencies.
Tuulikki Sillajõe, Deputy Director General of Statistics Estonia and current Chair of the Council Working Party on Statistics, provided further information on the state of play of the open legislative proposals and officially handed them over to the NSI.
Officials from Statistics Austria introduced the provisional plans for the future Austrian Presidency, which will start on 1 July 2018, while Eurostat Acting Director General Mariana Kotzeva explained what the Commission’s expectations from the Bulgarian Presidency are.
