Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - September 2010 (preliminary data)

In the period January - September 2010 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 23.9% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 13.4 billion levs while the imports increased by 6.6% and amounted to 15.5 billion levs.
In September 2010 the exports to the EU increased by 22.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached to 1.7 billion levs while the imports increased by 10.1% and amounted to 1.9 billion levs.

Producer Price Indices in Industry, October 2010

Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in October 2010 rose by 0.1% comparing to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2009 the domestic prices grew by 10.1%. Total Producer Price Index in Industry decreased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2009 the prices rose by 10.2%.

Goods and Passengers Carried and Transport Performance by Mode of Transport, Third Quarter 2010

According to preliminary data during the third quarter of 2010 in comparison with the previous three months is observed аn increase for the goods carried, as well for the transport performance by 2.6 and 4.8%. Over the corresponding period of 2009, there is a drop by the freight carriages – by 16.9% for the goods carried and by 22.0% for the transport performance. During the third quarter of 2010 transported passengers are with 7.9% less than the passengers in the previous three months, while the transport performance is by 3.0% more. In comparison with the corresponding quarter of 2009 is observed а decrease for the transported passengers, as well for the transport performance by 4.8 and 1.3%.

Turnover Indices in Services in Third Quarter of 2010

By preliminary data in the third quarter of 2010 the total turnover index for section “Transportation, storage and post”, calculated on basis of seasonally adjusted data is by 4.0% more than the previous quarter, while in section „Information and communication” there is a decrease by 7.5%.

The total turnover index, working day adjusted in section „Transportation, storage and post” is by 19.4% more compared to the third quarter of 2009. In the other Business services the biggest growth in comparison with the corresponding quarter of 2009 is observed in „Rental and leasing activities” - by 93.1%.

Business Conjuncture, November 2010

In November 2010 the total business climate indicator registers a minimal increase of 0.3 percentage points in comparison with the previous month. The inquiry reports on a worsening of the business conjuncture only in the service sector, whereas in industry, construction and retail trade the level of the business climate increases.

Households Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the Third Quarter of 2010

The average quarterly total income average per household member during the third quarter of 2010 is 932 Levs or by 2.2% less compared to the same quarter of 2009. The main part of this income (80.7%) is received from wages and salaries and pensions. The tendency of increase in pensions persists in similar terms as noted in comparative analyses from past periods. A nominal decrease in wages is registered.

Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Third Quarter of 2010

In the third quarter of 2010, the municipal authorities have issued building permits for construction of 1 311 residential buildings with 3 405 dwellings, of 56 administrative buildings/offices and 1 213 other buildings. The construction of 757 residential buildings with 2 260 dwellings, of 29 administrative buildings/offices and 514 other buildings has been started.
