Gross Domestic Product for the Third Quarter of 2011 – Flash Estimates
GDP in the third quarter of 2011 increased by 1.3%, compared with the same quarter of the previous year but remains at the same level compared with the second quarter of 2011.

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute for the first semester of 2011, the trials ended with inflicted penalty cover 14 136 committed crimes. The number of persons convicted with penalties come into force amounted to 15 796. The number of persons with effective sentence of conviction amounted to 9 276 and conditionally sentenced are 6 520 persons.
The consumer price index (CPI) in October 2011 compared to September 2011 was 100.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.8%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in October 2011 compared to September 2011 was 100.3%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.3%.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, in the third quarter of 2011 the newly built residential buildings were 690 and compared to the same quarter of 2010 increased by 27.1%. The newly built dwellings in them fell by 0.7% and their number was 3 796.
In the period January - September 2011 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 30.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and exceeded 11.1 billion levs while the imports increased by 24.5% and amounted to 13.8 billion levs
In the period January - September 2011 the total value of the exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 29.0 billion levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2010 the exports increased by 32.0% while the total value of all imported goods was 32.1 billion levs and increased by 20.6%.
In the period January - August 2011 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 34.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 15.9 billion levs while the imports increased by 19.0% and amounted to 16.2 billion levs.
In August 2011 the exports to the EU increased by 15.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and exceeded 2.0 billion levs while the imports increased by 11.0% and exceeded 1.9 billion levs .
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of September 2011 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 0.5% as compared to the end of June 2011 and reached to 2.19 millions. In third quarter of 2011 in comparison with the second quarter of 2011 the average monthly wages and salaries decreased by 0.9% getting 693 levs.
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, in September 2011 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.7% below the level of the previous month.
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted increased by 1.0% in September 2011 as compared to August 2011. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 1.5% as compared to the same month of 2010.
