In the second quarter of 2014, 886.1 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (74.7%) of them travelled only within the country, 19.8% - only abroad and 5.5% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2013 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over decreased by 1.2%, as a reduction was observed in the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled in the country - by 13.6%, while the number of persons travelled abroad increased by 34.7%.
According to the preliminary data in the second quarter of 2014 the total turnover index for section “Transportation, storage and post”, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, was 1.7% higher than the previous quarter. In section „Information and communication” the turnover index decreased by 1.4%.
In 2013, the government budget appropriations or outlays on R&D amounted to 200.4 million BGN and increased by 1.3% compared to 2012.
The index of producer prices in agriculture in the second quarter of 2014 decreased by 3.3% in comparison with the same quarter of 2013 and increased by 2.5% compared to 2013.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the second quarter of 2014 was 3.8% below the level in the same quarter of 2013 and with 3.9% compared to 2013.
