Main Labour Force Survey Results for the Third Quarter of 2013
In the third quarter of 2013 the unemployment rate was 12.0%, and the employment rate of population aged 15 - 64 was 61.1%.

According to the seasonally adjusted data, the flash GDP growth rate in the third quarter of 2013 is 0.8% compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
The consumer price index in October 2013 compared to September 2013 was 100.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.5%.
In September 2013, 2 481 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioning in the country. The total number of rooms in them was 115.1 thousands and the bed-places were 248.4 thousands. In comparison with September 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 6.6% and the bed-places in them - by 3.4%.
The total number of nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in September 2013 was 2 386.8 thousands or by 5.8% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 96.9 millions BGN or by 6.2% more compared to September 2012.
In the period January - August 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 8.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 17.1 Billion BGN while the imports from EU grown by 0.7% and added up to 19.5 Billion BGN.
In August 2013 the exports to the EU increased by 20.2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.4 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 2.2% and added up to 2.2 Billion BGN.
In the period January - September 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 5.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 12.9 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 0.9% and added up to 15.3 Billion BGN.
In the period January - September 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 32.5 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports increased by 7.8% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 37.5 Billion BGN and increased by 1.1%.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the third quarter of 2013 the number of newly built residential buildings was 521. Compared to the third quarter of 2012 they were by 38 less (or by 6.8%) and the registered decrease of the newly built dwellings in them was by 2.6%.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of September 2013 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 1.8% as compared to the end of June 2013 and reached 2.26 millions.
In the third quarter of 2013 in comparison with the second quarter of 2013 the average monthly wages and salaries decreased by 0.9% getting 792 BGN.
According to the preliminary data, in September 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.6% above the level of the previous month. The working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 5.6% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in September 2013 the turnover in Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles at constant prices increased by 0.6% compared to the previous month.
