Activity of Accommodation Establishments in December 2014

In December 2014, 2 016 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 58.0 thousands and the bed-places were 116.3 thousands. In comparison with December 2013 the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 7.1% and the bed-places in them - by 5.9%.

The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in December 2014 was 723.8 thousands or by 6.2% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in December 2014 reached 35.2 million BGN or by 7.1% more compared to December 2013.

Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - November 2014 (preliminary data)

In the period January - November 2014 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 2.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 24.9 Billion BGN while the imports grew by 3.5% and added up to 28.6 Billion BGN.

In November 2014 the exports to the EU decreased by 0.4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.4 Billion BGN while the imports increased by 5.7% and added up to 2.8 Billion BGN.

Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries in 2014 (preliminary data)

In 2014 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 6.6% compared to the previous year and amounted to 16.3 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 3.2% and added up to 19.7 Billion BGN.

In  2014 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 43.2 Billion BGN and compared to 2013 the exports decreased by 0.7% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 51.1 Billion BGN and increased by 1.2%.

Construction Production Indices in December 2014

According to the preliminary data, in December 2014 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 0.3% below the level of the previous month. In December 2014 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 2.3% in comparison with the same month of 2013.

Industrial Production Indices in December 2014

According to the preliminary data the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 1.1% in December 2014 as compared to November 2014. In December 2014 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 0.9% in comparison with the same month of 2013.

In January 2015 the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 4.8 percentage points compared to its October 2014 level, as for the urban population the increase is 4.0 percentage points and for the rural population - 7.3 percentage points.

Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Fourth Quarter of 2014

In the fourth quarter of 2014, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 070 residential buildings with 5 554 dwellings, of 44 administrative buildings/offices and 1 142 other buildings. The construction of 544 residential buildings with 2 790 dwellings, of 18 administrative buildings/offices and 523 other buildings was started.

Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, November 2014

In November 2014 compared to October 2014 an increase of the production of electricity by 9.8% is reported. At the same time a decrease of the production of solid fuels by 2.7%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 12.6%, transport diesel - by 12.8% and natural gas - by 50.0% is reported. No change for the production of liquefied petroleum gases is reported.

In November 2014 compared to October 2014 an increase of the deliveries of natural gas by 37.0% and electricity - by 11.3% is reported. At the same time a decrease of the deliveries of solid fuels by 3.0%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 8.3%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 43.9% and transport diesel - by 21.9% is reported.
