Producer Price Indexes in Industry, July 2009
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in July 2009 decreased by 0.9% compared to the previous month, and by 9% compared to the same month of 2008. Total Producer Price Index in Industry decreased by 1.0% compared to June 2009, comparing to the same month of 2008 the producer prices decreased by 10.6%.
Tourist Trips and Tourism-Related Expenditures of Population, Second Quarter 2009
According preliminarily data, 1 208 thousand Bulgarian residents travelled to the country or abroad in the second quarter of 2009. The average expenditure per person spent were 168.9 BGN for domestic trip and 411.8 BGN for travelling abroad.
Arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria and trips of Bulgarian residents travelling abroad in July 2009
In July 2009, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 471.2 thousand or 5.8% less than the number of trips in the same month of 2008.
The number of the trips of Bulgarian residents travelling abroad was 522.5 thousand in July 2009, which was 14.2% more than the number of the trips in July 2008.
Building Permits Issued for Construction of New Buildings, Second Quarter 2009
In the second quarter of 2009 municipal authorities have issued building permits for construction of 1 832 residential buildings with 4 506 dwellings, of 79 administrative buildings/offices and 1 160 other buildings.
Labour Force Survey, Second Quarter 2009
According to the results from the Labour Force Survey in the second quarter of 2009 the employment rate of population of 15 - 64 years of age went down by 0.6 percentage points in comparison with the same quarter of previous year and stood at 63.3%.
Railway Transport, July 2009
In July 2009 the goods carried by the railway transport decreased by 1.1% in comparison with the previous month, while in comparison with July 2008 there is a drop by 43.1%. The total number of the passengers carried by the passenger transport increase by 1.6% as compared to the previous month, while in comparison with July 2008 there is a decrease by 9.5%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments, II quarter 2009
In the second quarter of 2009 there were 3 015 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places. The total number of the nights spent in the second quarter of 2009 in all accommodation establishments fell by 747.8 thousand (16.4%) as compared to the same period of 2008.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, II quarter 2009
According to the preliminary data of National Statistical Institute (NSI) the number of employees under labour contract at the end of June 2009 decreased by 0.4% as compared to the end of March 2009 and reached to 2.4 millions. In second quarter of 2009 in comparison with the first quarter of 2009 the average monthly wages and salaries grew by 4.4% getting 588 levs.
Construction Production Indices in June 2009
In June 2009, the total production in construction rose by 10.6% compared to the previous month. The building construction increased by 9.6%, while the growth in the civil engineering was 12.4%.
Industrial Production and Industrial Turnover Indexes, June 2009
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index decreased by 18.7% in June 2009 as compared to June 2008 and increased by 6.9% as compared to the previous month.
