Population and Demographic Processes in 2014 (Final data)
As of 31 December 2014 the population of Bulgaria is 7 202 198 persons or 1.4% of the EU population. Compared to 2013, the population of the country decreases by 43 479 persons.
There are 67 585 live born children in 2014. The number of live births increases by 1 007 children compared to the previous year.
The number of dead persons is 108 952 and the crude mortality rate - 15.1‰. Compared to the previous year the number of dead people increases by 4 607.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption in 2014
The annual total income average per household member in 2014 is 4 813 BGN or the same compared to 2013.
Bulgarian households are spent 4 509 BGN per person in 2014, which is 1.0% more compared to 2013.
The consumption of main food products average per household member decreases in 2014.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in March 2015
The consumer price index in March 2015 compared to February 2015 was 100.4%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.4%.
Agricultural Land Prices and Rents in Agriculture in the Republic of Bulgaria in 2014
The average price per one decar agricultural land in Bulgaria reached 684 BGN in 2014, which was 15.2% higher than this in 2013. The average rent price per one decar hired/leased agricultural land in 2014 reached 41 BGN, which was by 7.9% higher with comparison to 2013.
Bulgarian Trade with EU in January 2015 (preliminary data)
In January 2015 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 16.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 2.3 Billion BGN while the imports increased insignificantly and added up to 2.3 Billion BGN.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - February 2015 (preliminary data)
In the period January - February 2015 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 0.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 2.4 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 0.3% and added up to 3.0 Billion BGN.
In the period January - February 2015 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 6.8 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2014 the exports increased by 7.7% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 7.9 Billion BGN and increased by 1.9%.
Investment Activity in Industry, March 2015
According to the latest data, in 2014 the expenditures for acquiring fixed tangible and intangible assets in industry are by 3.9% more compared to 2013. However the plans of industrial enterprises in 2015 are for a decrease of investments by 30.4% in comparison with the previous year.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in February 2015
In February 2015, 1 993 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 56.2 thousands and the bed-places were 113.0 thousands. In comparison with February 2014 the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 5.3% and the bed-places in them - by 3.8%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in February 2015 was 773.4 thousands or by 5.1% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in February 2015 reached 36.9 million BGN or by 8.8% more compared to February 2014.
Construction Production Indices in February 2015
According to the preliminary data, in February 2015 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.3% above the level of the previous month. In February 2015 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 1.8% in comparison with the same month of 2014.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in February 2015
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in February 2015 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month.
