Situation of the non-financial enterprises in the state of emergency in April 2020
Main results from the short business survey amongst the non-financial enterprises, aiming at presenting to the society and policy makers information on the economic effects from the declared state of emergency in the country due to COVID-19.

Turnover Indices in Services in the First Quarter of 2020
According to the preliminary data for the first quarter of 2020 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data increased by 3.0% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index grew by 4.4%.
The 2017 results of the International Comparison Program
China, US and EU are the largest economies in the world.
In 2017, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the European Union with 27 Member States (EU) represented 16.0% of world GDP, expressed in Purchasing Power Standards (PPS). China and the United States were the two largest economies, with shares of 16.4% and 16.3% respectively.
Administrative-territorial and territorial division of the Republic of Bulgaria as of 31 December 2019
On the occasion of 140 years of Bulgarian statistics, the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria presents a new press release “Administrative-territorial and territorial division of the Republic of Bulgaria as of 31 December 2019”. The press release will be published annually.
As of 31 December 2019, the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria is administratively divided into 28 administrative districts and 265 municipalities, in which there are 3 177 individual mayoralties. There are 5 257 settlements, of which 257 - towns and 5 000 - villages, while the settlement formations were 163.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in April 2020
The consumer price index in April 2020 compared to March 2020 was 99.4%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.6%.
Bulgaria and EU: Gross Domestic Product, first quarter of 2020 (Flash Estimates)
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2020 decreased by 3.3% in EU-27 compared to the previous quarter by seasonally adjusted data. For the same period, GDP in Bulgaria increased by 0.3%.
Creches in 2019
The number of detached crèches and groups in kindergartens functioning in the country as of 31.12.2019 was 835 with 33 764 places in them.
The number of children accommodated in crèches at the end of the year was 32 185. 16 677 of them were boys, and 15 508 - girls.
The total number of places in crèches per 100 children aged up to 3 years as of 31.12.2019 was 17.9 and the coverage of children brought up in crèches - 17.1 per 100 children aged up to 3 years.
Price Indices in Agriculture, First Quarter of 2020
The producer price index in agriculture in the first quarter of 2020 increased by 6.0% in comparison with the same quarter of 2019. The crop output index increased by 5.9% and the animal output index increased by 6.3%. In comparison with previous year, the prices of agricultural output went up by 7.7% as the increase in crop output price index was by 9.4% and in animal output price index increase was by 4.4%.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the first quarter of 2020 was by 2.4% higher compared to the same quarter of previous year and by 0.1% compared to 2019.
Main Labour Force Survey Results for the First Quarter of 2020
In the first quarter of 2020 the unemployment rate was 4.6%, and the employment rate of population aged 20 - 64 was 73.0%.
