Statistical presentation
Data description | The table about the emissions of pollutants in the air contains information from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) and Executive Environmental Agency at the Ministry of Environment and Water. The emissions are estimated by using a balance method based on the indicators: consumed fuels, calorific value, quantity of produced output and invested raw materials, as well as emission factors applicable for the respective pollutants. |
Classification system | The classification used according EMEP/EEA guidebook 2023 of: · sources of emissions; · fuels; · treatment facilities and measures to protect the atmosphere. |
Sector coverage | The statistical survey includes enterprises of all economic activities which operation is linked with the formation of emissions. |
Statistical concepts and definitions | Concepts and definitions are used according to EMEP/EEA guidebook 2023. |
Statistical unit | Firms, enterprises, local units, which activity is directly or indirectly connected with the formation of emissions. |
Statistical population | Economic subjects, which composition of activities includes:
|
Reference area | Total for the country and some industrial regions. |
Time coverage | 1992 - 2022 |
Base period | Not applicable. |

Timeliness | The data are published according to the terms laid down in the Release Calendar presenting the results of the statistical surveys carried out by the National Statistical Institute. |
Punctuality | All publications are prepared timely, according to the Release Calendar presenting the results of the statistical surveys carried out by the National Statistical Institute. |
Coherence and comparability
Comparability - geographical | High degree of comparability of definitions and classifications between EU Member States in terms of statistical survey results. |
Comparability - over time | Time series are available since 1992. |
Coherence - cross domain | The data are coherented with statistics on the energy sector and agriculture. |
Coherence - internal | The data are coherented with statistics on the energy sector and PRODCOM - statistics by products. |
