The training course for young statisticians from six countries successfully completed

In 2017, the National Statistical Institute continued to implement successfully its Policy for development of cooperation with the European Neighbourhood Policy - East countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). After last year’s course entitled ‘Introduction to the Theory and Organization of Statistical Surveys’ which was attended by 12 young statisticians from the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, this year the geography of the participating countries was expanded.

NSI actively develops cooperation with the OECD

On 5 and 6 October 2017 in Paris, France, the Deputy President of the National Statistical Institute Diana Yancheva will participate in a conference of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the topic ‘The role of Official Statistics in an evolving communication society’. The event is organised under the auspices of the OECD Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy with the aim to address the challenges faced by national statistical offices in a rapidly evolving world and help develop new communication strategies for national statistics.

NSI - host of a training of young statisticians from six countries

The National Statistical Institute hosts a training of 24 young statisticians from the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Republic of Ukraine organized jointly with the Centre for Statistical Studies at the University of National and World Economy - Sofia. The training is carrying out in the framework of the Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria ‘Building of Administrative capacity and democratic institutions’.

New Trio Presidency of the Council of the EU: First meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics

The first meeting of the Council Working Party on Statistics under the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which is also the first meeting of the Trio Presidency Estonia-Bulgaria-Austria, will be held on 19 July 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.

On the agenda will be the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on integrated farm statistics and repealing Regulations (EC) No. 1166/2008 and (EU) No. 1337/2011.
