Eurostat publishes infographic on Bulgaria
On the occasion of the official launch of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Eurostat has published an infographic with interesting statistics on Bulgaria in comparison to the EU.

Bulgaria takes over the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics from Estonia
On 14 December 2017 in Tartu, Estonia, Statistics Estonia officially handed over the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics to the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria in the presence of representatives from Austria and Eurostat.
At the event, the President of the NSI Sergey Tsvetarsky, who will chair the working party meetings during the Bulgarian Presidency, presented Bulgaria’s priorities in the field of statistics and described how he intends to continue and build on the work of the Estonian and the previous Presidencies.
Bulgaria takes over the Presidency of the Council Working Party on Statistics
On 14 December 2017 in Tartu, Estonia, a delegation of the National Statistical Institute headed by the NSI President Sergey Tsvetarsky will participate in a meeting at which the current Chair of the Council Working Party on Statistics and Deputy Director General of Statistics Estonia Ms. Tuulikki Sillajõe will hand over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the field of statistics. The meeting will also be attended by representatives of Statistics Austria, who are partners in the trio presidencies of the Council of the EU Estonia - Bulgaria - Austria.
Meeting of the National Statistical Council
At the meeting of the National Statistical Council (NSC), held on December 1, 2017, the Report on the implementation of the National Statistical Programme and the Activity of the NSI in 2017 was discussed and adopted. Over the past year the NSI conducted 257 statistical surveys and activities, respectively the bodies of statistics - 44. A detailed review of the implementation of all statistical surveys and strategic priorities in 2017 was made in the Report. The members of the National Statistical Council expressed their positive opinion on its content and scope.
NSI trains experts from the State Statistical Office of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the field of quality management
In the period 15 - 17 November 2017, the National Statistical Institute hosts a three-day training, where experts from Methodological and Training Centre Directorate are acquainting their Macedonian colleagues with the Bulgarian experience in the field of quality management within the NSI. The training is carrying out in the framework of IPA 2014 Multi-Beneficiary Statistical Co-operation Programme. The following participants from the State Statistical Office of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are attending the training: Mr. Zirap Ademi, Deputy President and Ms.
