Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in February 2013
In February 2013 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 246.0 thousand or by 7.6% less than the previous month and by 8.7% above the registered in February 2012. The trips with other purposes (as guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 62.4%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 22.5% and with holiday and recreation purposes - 15.1%.
In February 2013 the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 320.2 thousand which was by 9.0% less compared to the previous month and by 14.5% above the level from February 2012. An increase in the visit with holiday and recreation purpose - by 16.4% and with other purposes - by 26.0% was registered, while the arrivals with professional purpose decreased by 13.3%.
Quarterly Labour Cost Index, Fourth Quarter of 2012
Preliminary data of NSI for the Fourth Quarter of 2012 indicated that total hourly labour cost rose by 5.1% compared to the Fourth Quarter of 2011.
Labour Force Survey 2012, Main Results
In 2012 the employment rate (15 - 64) was 58.8%, by 0.4 percentage points higher in comparison with 2011. Over the same period the unemployment rate increased by 1.0 percentage point to 12.3%.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in February 2013
The consumer price index in February 2013 compared to January 2013 was 100.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.1%.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries in January 2013 (preliminary data)
In January 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 34.8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 1.5 Billion Levs while the imports grew by 21.2% and added up to 1.7 Billion Levs.
In January 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 3.5 Billion Levs and compared to the corresponding month of 2012 the exports increased by 23.9% while the total value of all imported goods reached 3.7 Billion Levs and grew by 6.4%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in January 2013
In January 2013, 1 791 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 52.0 thousands and the bed-places were 103.4 thousands. In comparison with January 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 8.0% and the bed-places in them - by 3.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments in January 2013 amounted to 644.1 thousands or by 5.0% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 29.8 million BGN or by 0.8% more compared to January 2012.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for 2012 (preliminary data)
In 2012 the Bulgarian exports to the EU decreased by 3.6% compared to 2011 and amounted to 23.8 Billion Levs while the imports increased by 7.5% and added up to 29.2 Billion Levs.
In December 2012 the exports to the EU decreased by 10.0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 1.7 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 7.9% and added up to 2.2 Billion Levs.
Construction Production Indices in January 2013
According to the preliminary data, in January 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 3.8% above the level of the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in January 2013
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted increased by 1.1% in January 2013 as compared to December 2012. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 7.9% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
Gross Domestic Product for the Fourth Quarter of 2012 and Preliminary Data for 2012
In the fourth quarter of 2012 GDP at current prices amounts to 21 085 million Levs. In Euro terms GDP reaches 10 780 million Euro in total and 1 478 Euro per person. According to the seasonally adjusted figures, the GDP growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2012 is 0.5 % compared to the same quarter of the previous year and remains at the same level compared to the third quarter of 2012.
