In the fourth quarter of 2012, 692.3 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority part (79.4%) of them travelled only in the country, 13.9% - only abroad and 6.7% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2011 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over decreased by 21.7%, as a reduction was observed in the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled in the country - by 25.3%, while in the number of persons travelled abroad increased by 11.2%. The average expenditure per person for private trips in the country increased by 16.4%, while abroad decreased by 10.4%. The average expenditure for professional trips per person in the country and abroad increased by 24.1 and 30.2% respectively.
