Energy balances of renewable energy sourcrs (RES) present data on resources, transformation and final consumption of energy from renewable sources. Include detailed indicators for fuels used and produced fuels/energy from transformation processes. Final energy consumption is presented by economic activity groups (according to the used by Eurostat structure), which ensure international comparison of data.
Includes data from all producers, importers and exporters, and consumers of primary and transformed energy products of all economic activities in accordance with the Regulation (ЕО) № 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics.

For the five, surveys used to collect data for preparation of the Energy Balances of RES, the statistical unit is enterprise.
All economic entities that produce, import and/ or export, store and consume renewable energy products.

According Art. 25 of the Law on Statistics individual data are not published (they are suppressed). Dissemination of individual data is possible according to Art. 26 of the Law on Statistics.
Energy balances of RES are published on 30 November of the year following the reporting year.

Energy balances of RES are published on the NSI website, section 'Energy' in accordance with the Law on Statistics (Chapter 5) and the European Statistics Code of Practice respecting the professional independence and with aimed at objectivity, transparency and equal treatment of all consumers.

Annexes A and B of the Regulation (EC) No 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics and its amendments.
Quality report for the data from the statistical surveys, conducted in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) № 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics and its amendments - prepared on every 5 years.
Data from all surveys are validated and corrected by the NSI in case of established inaccuracies.
Following the reporting of the data, Eurostat and the International Energy Agency carry out data validation procedures, after which, if necessary, the NSI sends additional clarifications related to the reported data, or make corrections in case of an error.
Energy balances of RES are comparable with the information prepared by the other Member states as it is produced according to a unified methodology.
Information is used for analytical, forecasting and management purposes by Ministries and other organizations, companies and citizens.
No consumer satisfaction survey was conducted.
Data fully meet the requirements of the Regulation (EC) No 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics in terms of the observed indicators, scope of energy products and structure of consumption.

Data from respondents, for the preparation of Energy balances of RES, are collected six months after the reporting year. Analysis, verification, processing and preparation of the Energy balances are carried out untill the end of November following the reporting year.
Data are published on the dates indicated in the Release Calendar presenting the results of the statistical surveys of the NSI.

Data for the indicators Import (Entries) and Exports (Exits) are consistent with the data of External Trade in Goods Statistics for the respective year, except in cases where methodological differences between the two areas exist.

Revision is made as a result of changes in the used classifications, methodologies, or when establishing incorrect data - omissions or inaccuracies in the data presented by the respondents.
Main data sources for the compilation of the energy balances of RES are statistical surveys for energy products (included in the National Statistical Programme), collecting data by producers, importers and exporters, and consumers of fuels/energy, as well as information from administrative sources.

Information is provided by conducting statistical surveys on energy products online or through electronic forms:
A comparative analysis of the data from respondents is made with the data from other statistical surveys, with administrative data and with data from the previous periods. Validated primary data are used for construction and preparation of energy balances of RES. Each energy product has its own specificity and reporting methodology, so the data analysis is done for each energy balance individually for all indicators.
Statistical difference between resource and consumption of every balance should be reduced below 5 %.
The validated (ready) Energy balances of RES in natural units are recalculated in energy measure Terajoule. For the purpose, calorific value of each energy product is used, and for some indicators - the weighted average calorific value. Data obtained in Terajoules is multiplied by the conversion factor for recalculation to a common unit of measurement thousand tons of oil equivalent - 0.023885, which allows comparability between different renewable products.
