The main contentious issues relate to the implementing acts, which will specify the modalities for the exchange of data. At the next meeting of the Working Party on Statistics on 14 June the discussions will continue on the remaining articles.
The Chair of the CWPS and President of the NSI Sergey Tsvetarsky informed the delegations about the compromise reached between the Council and the European Parliament during the trilogue held in April 2018 and about the possibilities for making further progress on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the harmonisation of gross national income at market prices (GNI Regulation). The Member States and the Commission held a discussion and exchanged views in light of having the file approved by COREPER as soon as possible.
The Bulgarian Presidency informed the delegations about the progress and the main results of the last trialogues on the Integrated European Social Statistics (IESS) file.
Mr. Tsvetarsky thanked the Member States for their support in COREPER on the adoption of the crucial integrated farm statistics regulation.
