The Committee will discuss and vote on the proposal for a Commission implementing regulation specifying the technical characteristics of the 2019 ad hoc module on work organisation and working time arrangements as regards the labour force sample survey pursuant to Council Regulation (EC) No. 577/98.
The Committee will also adopt the revised text of the European Statistics Code of Practice and will discuss and provide its opinion on several documents, including on the European Statistical System (ESS) strategic priorities beyond 2020, the ESS Vision 2020, and the issue of access to privately held data for statistical purposes.
On the morning of the following day, 17 November, Mr. Tsvetarsky and Ms. Yancheva will participate in a meeting of the European Statistical Forum. During the event the heads of the EU Member States’ National Statistical Institutes and the directors of the statistics departments of the central banks that comprise the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) will discuss the strategic partnership between the ESS and the ESCB, as well as the impact of the ‘post-truth’ era on the credibility of statistics.
In the afternoon of the same day the senior management and the directors of the NSI’s thematic directorates will hold a meeting with Eurostat acting Director-General Mariana Kotzeva and their counterparts, at which they will discuss the state of play of the open legislative proposals in the field of statistics and the related work during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018.
