Bulgaria, Austria, and Estonia step up cooperation within the EU Council Presidency

From 30 to 31 October 2017 in Vienna, Austria, a coordination meeting of the Trio Presidencies of the Council of the European Union Estonia - Bulgaria - Austria will be held, at which the President of the NSI Sergey Tsvetarsky, the Deputy President Diana Yancheva, and the Head of the International Cooperation Department Yordanka Anastassova will discuss with their counterparts from the National Statistical Offices of Austria and Estonia the state of play of the open legislative files in the field of statistics. During the meeting the participants will also examine issues related to the general organisation of the work within the framework of the Presidency, the coordination between the three countries, and the definition of the main lines of action in the following months.

The National Statistical Institute will chair the meetings of the Council Working Party on Statistics during the upcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the Council in the first semester of 2018. Estonia currently holds the rotating Presidency from July to December 2017, while Austria will take over from Bulgaria in the second half of the following year.
