On 16th of April 2015, the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria launches the survey on ‘ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises in 2015’. The survey is conducted in all EU Member States and follows common methodology under Regulation (EC) No. 808/2004 and is included in the National Statistical Programme for 2015 with mandatory participation.

5 100 enterprises with 10 and more persons employed are included in the survey. The main objective is to provide reliable and comparable data to reflect the distribution and use of ICT in Bulgaria. In the questionnaire are included questions related to access and use of computers and internet in enterprises, use of ‘cloud’ computing services, social media, electronic data exchange, e-commerce, etc.

In order to improve the efficiency of the survey and to reduce the respondents’ burden, NSI offers the possibility for online data entry. The enterprises included in the survey will receive an invitation by e-mail with a brief presentation of the survey and a link to the online questionnaire. If the enterprise has no possibility to fill in the online survey, it will be visited by an officer of the NSI, who will assist it in completing the questionnaire.

The survey’s results will be published on the NSI’s website.

More information on the methodology and tools of the survey on ‘ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises’ can be found on the NSI website, section Statistical data, subsection ‘Information Society’:
