The Deputy President of NSI Mrs. Diana Yancheva participates in the 21st International Conference of Labour Statisticians (ICLS) which is being held at the headquarters of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Switzerland from 11th to 20th October 2023.
The Conference, held every five years since 1923, is the main forum for labour statistics where member states discuss relevant recommendations, resolutions and standards and decide on measures to be undertaken.
The 21st session of the ICLS marks the Centenary of the first conference of statisticians engaged in the compilation of labour statistics and the adoption of the first standards in the field of labour statistics which allowed greater comparability between the data of individual countries.
Some of the topics discussed during this year’s Conference include standards for statistics on informal employment; examination of concepts, statistical definitions and measurement methods of issues relevant for decent work, including indicators identified under the ILO’s custodianship in the Global Indicator Framework set up for monitoring the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; violence and harassment at work; International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-08); international labour migration; statistics on child labour; forced labour, etc.
