Participants from the eleven European countries in which the competition will take place are a total of 6 300, distributed in 2 366 teams.
According to the competition regulation, the teams are composed of up to three students, but even self-participation is allowed. It is important for each team to have a mentor-teacher. 16 Bulgarian students have expressed a desire to compete on their own.
Most numerous are the teams from Ruse as they are from 4 schools in the city. There are 25 teams comprised of 7 schools in Sofia and the surprise is the activity of the Pazardzhik students, who have joined in 20 teams from 3 schools. Most numerous schools in one city are in Varna - a total of 8.
The national round of the Competition will take place in two stages. In the first stage, which started on January 29, 2018, the teams had 14 days to solve the tests and interpret the statistical text. The second stage, which wills last 20 days, will be the time to analyse statistics on a predefined topic.
Only the national round winners from each country will participate in the European round and they will be announced in early April.
During the European round of the competition, teams will need in a 2-minute video to answer the question: "Why official statistics are important to our society?"
