On March 9, 2016 at "Press Centre Hall" of the NSI were held two training seminars for students from "Library and Information and Cultural Policy" department at the Philosophy Faculty of "St. Kliment Ohridski" Sofia University. Students are in their first year in the "Library and Information Science" specialty. For the second consecutive year the NSI supports the learning process of the department and the visit of the students is within the framework of "Introduction to digitization" course.
Sonia Zlatanova, expert in "Publications, library and archive" department, at ”Multi-Domain Statistics and User Services” directorate introduced the participants with the practice of creating and managing digital information resources and the processes of digitalization of book collections. The students visited the digital centre and the reading room of the library.
The digital library of the NSI possess a comprehensive technology for creating, processing, managing and distributing digital information resources, which currently exceed 1.15 million digital pages of statistical information.
