The National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Statistics Office of Georgia signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of statistics

On February 3, 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Statistics Office of Georgia signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of statistics. On the Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Ms. Diana Yancheva, Deputy President of the National Statistical Institute, and on the Georgian one by Ms. Meri Daushvili, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office.

The signing of the document took place in the framework of the Fifth session of the Georgian-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. This Agreement will replace the previous one from 1997 signed by the governments of Bulgaria and Georgia.

The cooperation between both National Statistics Offices will cover practically all the domains of statistics. It will be implemented through exchange of statistical publications on methodological and specific issues of the statistical surveys; exchange of experience in the use of information technologies, including the structure and management of statistical databases; development of joint projects in the field of statistics; cooperation related to participation in international programmes and projects; exchange of experts in areas of interest to both countries, study visits, training and others.
