The NSI President Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky and the Rector of the University of National and World Economy, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev signed a framework agreement on cooperation

The President of the National Statistical Institute, Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, and the Rector of the University of National and World Economy, Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev, signed a framework agreement for cooperation between the NSI and the university. The bilateral agreement was signed in the presence of Mrs. Diana Yancheva - Deputy President of the National Statistical Institute, and the representatives of the academic management of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoytchev, director of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies Division, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelin Boshnakov, Chief Secretary for Science of the UNWE.

The Framework Agreement provides for both institutions to coordinate their activities in the preparation of new staff and qualification training of employees in the system of the NSI, as well as joint execution of research activity aimed at solving specific problems of statistical theory and practice.

The document regulates the participation of the University of National and World Economy in the development of the National Programme for Statistical Surveys in the preparation of analysis in the field of population, economy and environment, as well as in discussing methodological issues related to solving specific tasks of the statistical theory and practice.

It is envisaged that the training of bachelors and masters to be tailored to the needs of the NSI, to create conditions for continuous learning process and constant update of knowledge of the staff of the institute in order to attract leading experts in joint programmes, courses and projects.

The National Statistical Institute will ensure the implementation of student’s internships and field training, consultants in the practical training of students, experts in teaching statistics and econometrics, and etc. The University will receive free of charge information from statistical surveys of the National Statistical Programme and other surveys.

Mr. Tsvetarsky, who is a graduate of UNWE, projects the capacity of the agreement from the creation of an European higher education format for statisticians to promising scientific cooperation in the field of science on academic level.

The NSI President expressed his confidence in the fruitful cooperation between the two institutions and their constructive role in the field of statistical science and practice.

Coordinator of the implementation of the agreement by the the NSI was assigned to Ms. Galia Stateva, director of "Statistical and IT Infrastructure, Coordination and International Activities" Directorate.
