Theme 'Population and Social Statistics'

The National Statistical Institute presents to the users of statistical information the annual publication (in Bulgarian only) Road Traffic Accidents in the Republic of Bulgaria 2010. The issue is a joint edition of the Ministry of Interior and the National Statistical Institute.

The publication contains:

• Methodological notes;

• Tables with annual information about the road traffic accidents, injured and killed persons registered in Bulgaria during 2010.

The National Statistical Institute presents to the users of statistical information annual electronic publication Employment and Unemployment - Annual Data 2010.

The bilingual (Bulgarian-English) publication presents annual average data from the Labour Force Survey. The Labour Force Survey is a sample statistical survey on households for examination of the economic activity of the population aged 15 years and over.

The methodology of the survey has been developed according to ILO and Eurostat recommendations.

The National Statistical Institute informs users of statistical information that the annual bilingual (Bulgarian/English) publication Environment 2009 (on CD) is already available. The publication contains environmental data from NSI statistical surveys in 2009. The main indicators are presented for the 2004 – 2009 period.

The NSI annual electronic publication Population and Demographic Processes 2009 is available for users of statistical information.

The issue is bilingual (Bulgarian/English) and contains detailed statistical information about the demographic state in the Republic of Bulgaria during the year of 2009. Data for the number and the structures of the population and for its natural movement and internal migration are published in the issue.

The National Statistical Institute informs users of statistical information in the field of social statistics that the annual publication Health Services 2010 (in Bulgarian only) is already available.

The publication Health Services is a joint edition of the National Statistical Institute and the National Centre for Health Information at the Ministry of Health.

The data sources are the statistical surveys carried out by the both institutions.

In the publication data are systematized as follows:

The NSI annual electronic bilingual publication Crimes and Persons Convicted 2009, containing data on crimes with penalty inflicted is available for users of statistical information. The issue includes data about the activity of regional, district and martial courts in penal cases of a general, private and administrative nature. Comparable data on crimes with penalty inflicted, as well as persons convicted with sentences in force for 1989 - 2009 period are also shown.

The National Statistical Institute presents the issued annual bilingual (Bulgarian-English) publication Book-publishing and Press 2009.
