Data on number of establishments and places in crеches, personnel, and number of children as well as their distribution by age are collected. Creches are set up to support families in raising children up to the age of three years and to ensure their normal physical and mental development. Groups for children could be opened at daily and weekly kindergartens as the organization of work there does not differ from the work of detached creches.

All crеches and groups in kindergartens are covered.

Crеches are organizationally separate structures, in which medical and other specialists raise, educate and train children aged from three months to three years. The coverage of children grown in crеches is expressed by ratio of the number of children aged up to 3 years attending separate crеches and nursery groups at kindergartens per 100 of children of the same age group of the total population. The number and structure of the population at the end of each year are calculated on the basis of the previous year's data and the data on natural movements and migration of the population in the current year. The population estimate as of 31 December 2022 reflects the changes in population numbers and structure recorded in the Census 2021. In this regard, there is a break in the time series for all coefficients for 2022.
