The National Statistical Institute has started work on the ‘Income and Living Conditions - SILC 2025 module’ project since September 2024. The implementation of the project is in accordance with the Grant Agreement with the European Commission Nо. 101190892 - 2024-BG-SILC.
The implementation of the project activities will provide an opportunity to improve the data processing; fulfil the technical requirements for the new or revised sets of variables and characteristics implemented for the first time in 2025 ad hoc subject on ‘Energy and the environment’.
In order to fulfil the main objectives of the project, the following main activities are planned to be taken as follows:
- To organize and coordinate SILC survey with focus on technical characteristics; explanatory notes for the variables of the 2025 ad hoc subject on ‘Energy and the environment’;
- To prepare a model questionnaire, interviewers’ instructions and training the staff involved in the project;
- To update the software for data entry and data processing;
- Provide comparable and reliable data.
The expected results from the action are optimization of data collection and data processing methods according to the new requirements on multiannual rolling planning and methodological guidelines provided by Eurostat. The activities will support the introduction of changes for BG-SILC data collection, technical implementation and increased efficiency of microdata processing and transmission to Eurostat according to methodological guidelines
The duration of the project is 21 months and will end in May 2026.
