Provision of information from firms, firm establishments, municipal administrations, scientific institutes, foundations, ministries and other organizations and departments having at their disposal facilities, installations, and equipment included in the tangible fixed assets with ecological use. The tangible fixed assets with ecological use put into exploitation /acquired/ during the corresponding year are also reported. Tangible fixed assets with ecological use are allocated by directions of ecological use (wastewater, air, waste, etc.).
· Classification of environmental protection activities (CEPA) - a common classification of environmental protection activities which has been adopted by UN and European statisticians and accountants in 1994 and replaced in 2000 by an improved version (CEPA 2000);
· Nomenclature of environmental protection equipment:
- specialized facilities (end-of-pipe)

Included are the economic subjects from all economic sectors having at their disposal tangible fixed assets with ecological use.

Specialized equipment for the environment (end-of-pipe) - includes facilities which are not involved in the production process and serve only to reduce pollution resulting from production.
Integrated technologies - elements of the production process/technologies, which resulted in achieving less environmental pollution compared to other similar technologies.

Data is provided by exhausive annual survey. Basic source is a statistical questionnaire on movement of the tangible fixed assets with ecological use.

· Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 on European statistics (recital 24 and Article 20(4)) of 11 March 2009 (OJ L 87, p. 164), stipulates the need to establish common principles and guidelines ensuring the confidentiality of data used for the production of European statistics and the access to those confidential data with due account for technical developments and the requirements of users in a democratic society.

Individual data are not published in accordance with article 25 of the Law on Statistics. The publishing of individual data can be performed only in accordance with article 26 of the same law.
