Statistical presentation
Data description | The object of the statistical survey are the economic operations related to the acquisition and use of tangible fixed assets with ecological use. They include: • facilities, installations and equipment necessary for the protection and restoration of the environment in the areas of environmental protection (for waste water, for air, circulating water supply, soil protection, waste disposal, noise protection); • equipment for monitoring and control. Tangible fixed assets with ecological use require separate accounting records in accordance with the Accounting Act and the National Chart of Accounts and are part of the total tangible fixed assets in the country. They participate in the activities of enterprises for more than one reporting period. The monitored indicators include the acquired, out of use and available at the end of the year tangible fixed assets with ecological use, which are given at accounting value. Acquired (entered during the year) tangible fixed assets during the reporting period include the value of fixed tangible assets acquired by the enterprise through construction and purchase.
| |
Classification system | • Classification of economic activities (NACE-2008) from 01.01.2008; • Classification of territorial units for statistical purposes in Bulgaria (NUTS) • Classification of environmental protection activities (CEPA) - a common classification of environmental protection activities which has been adopted by UN and European statisticians and accountants in 1994 and replaced in 2000 by an improved version (CEPA 2000); • Nomenclature of environmental protection equipment: - specialized facilities (end-of-pipe) - integrated technologies
Sector coverage | The statistical survey covers all enterprises from all economic sectors that have tangible fixed assets with ecological use.
| |
Statistical concepts and definitions | Specialized equipment for the environment (end-of-pipe) - includes facilities which are not involved in the production process and serve only to reduce pollution resulting from production. Examples: air and water treatment facilities, waste treatment facilities, noise barriers and others. Integrated technologies - elements of the production process/technologies, which resulted in achieving less environmental pollution compared to other similar technologies.
Statistical unit | The basic unit of observation is the enterprise and local units.
| |
Statistical population | The statistical population consists of all statistical units - non-financial enterprises, non-profit enterprises and budgetary enterprises (municipalities, ministries) and banks, or their local units (covering all sectors of the economy), which have facilities available and introduced/acquired during the year, installations and equipment which are part of tangible fixed assets with ecological use.
