Since 1st October 2004, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Communities has implemented a new Strategy focused on free of charge data dissemination of European statistics. The users of Eurostat website have possibilities to find free of charge harmonised statistical information included in Eurostat databases and electronic publications. An information published on the Eurostat website is available in English, French and German.
Providing free access to the data, Eurostat in co-operation with national statistical institutions sets up a net of national centres called European Statistical Data Support (ESDS) to support users in working with European statistical information.
