Meeting of the European Statistical System Committee

The President of the National Statistical Institute Sergey Tsvetarsky will participate in the 33^rd meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), to be held on 17 - 18 May 2017 at Eurostat, Luxembourg. This will be the second Committee meeting for this year out of the four regular annual ESSC meetings.

The Committee will discuss and vote on the proposal for a Commission Regulation amending Regulation (EC) No 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy statistics, as regards the implementation of updates for annual and monthly energy statistics.

The Committee will also give its opinion on the draft Annual Work Programme 2018 for European statistics, on the revised draft GNI regulation, and on the EU Sustainable Development Goals indicator set developed by Eurostat in cooperation with other Commission services and the National Statistical Institutes of the European Statistical System.

The ESSC session will be directly preceded by a meeting of the heads of the National Statistical Institutes of the Presidency Trio of the Council of the European Union Estonia - Bulgaria - Austria for the period July 2017 - December 2018, at which the common programme in the field of statistics will be discussed.
