Labour Force Survey, Second Quarter 2009

According to the results from the Labour Force Survey in the second quarter of 2009 the employment rate of population of 15 - 64 years of age went down by 0.6 percentage points in comparison with the same quarter of previous year and stood at 63.3%.

Railway Transport, July 2009

In July 2009 the goods carried by the railway transport decreased by 1.1% in comparison with the previous month, while in comparison with July 2008 there is a drop by 43.1%. The total number of the passengers carried by the passenger transport increase by 1.6% as compared to the previous month, while in comparison with July 2008 there is a decrease by 9.5%.

Activity of Accommodation Establishments, II quarter 2009

In the second quarter of 2009 there were 3 015 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places. The total number of the nights spent in the second quarter of 2009 in all accommodation establishments fell by 747.8 thousand (16.4%) as compared to the same period of 2008.

Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, II quarter 2009

According to the preliminary data of National Statistical Institute (NSI) the number of employees under labour contract at the end of June 2009 decreased by 0.4% as compared to the end of March 2009 and reached to 2.4 millions. In second quarter of 2009 in comparison with the first quarter of 2009 the average monthly wages and salaries grew by 4.4% getting 588 levs.

Consumer Survey, July 2009

The regular consumer survey carried out by the National Statistical Institute in July 2009 shows an increase of 5.5 percentage points of the total consumer confidence indicator as the increase in “confidence” is relatively higher for the rural population - a rise of the indicator of 6.4 percentage points in comparison with 5.0 percentage points for the urban population.

Producer Price Indexes in Industry, June 2009

Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in June 2009 increased by 0.2 per cent compared to May 2009, compared to the same month of 2008 decreased by 5.1 per cent. Total Producer Price Index increased by 0.5 per cent compared with May 2009, compared to May 2008 decreased by 7.3 per cent.
