Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - May 2013 (preliminary data)

In the period January - May 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 7.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 10.2 Billion Levs while the imports from EU grew by 0.5% and added up to 11.9 Billion Levs.
In May 2013 the exports to the EU decreased by 12.0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 1.9 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 11.6% and added up to 2.4 Billion Levs.

Industrial Production Indices in June 2013

According to the preliminary data the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted increased by 0.8% in June 2013 as compared to May 2013. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fall by 4.4% in comparison with the same month of 2012.

In July 2013 the total consumer confidence indicator decreases by 2.1 percentage points compared to its level 3 months ago which is due to the decreased confidence of both urban and rural inhabitants - by 1.5 and 4.0 percentage points respectively.

Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Second Quarter of 2013

In the second quarter of 2013, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 151 residential buildings with 2 985 dwellings, of 32 administrative buildings/offices and 1 389 other buildings. The construction of 665 residential buildings with 1 729 dwellings, of 24 administrative buildings/offices and 517 other buildings was started.

Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, June 2013 (preliminary data)

In June 2013 compared to May 2013 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels by 94.2% and electricity - by 5.6%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the production of liquefied petroleum gases by 11.1%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 0.6%, transport diesel - by 4.1% and natural gas - by 13.0%.

Deliveries of solid fuels in June 2013 compared to May 2013 increase by 86.2% and electricity - by 2.3%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases by 11.4%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 46.9%, transport diesel - by 7.6% and natural gas - by 8.7%.

Producer Price Indices in Industry, June 2013

Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in June 2013 decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2012 the domestic prices did not change. Total Producer Price Index went down by 0.3% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2012 the prices declined by 0.1%.

In July 2013 the total business climate indicator increases by 1.4 percentage points compared to its level from the previous month. A better business climate is registered in industry - by 3.2 percentage points, and retail trade - by 5.2 percentage points, while in construction and service sector have certain deterioration (respectively by 1.8 and 2.8 percentage points).

Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in June 2013

In June 2013 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 383.0 thousand or by 6.0% above the registered in June 2012. The trips with other purposes (as guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) composed the greatest share of the total number of Bulgarian residents trips abroad - 42.9%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purposes - 34.6% and with professional purposes - 22.5%.
In June 2013, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 164.7 thousand which was by 4.3% above the level of June 2012. An increase was registered in the visits with holiday and recreation purposes - by 7.1% as well as in the trips with other purposes by 0.8%, while the professional visits decreased by 2.4%.
