In October 2019, the total business climate indicator decreases by 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous month as a result of the more unfavourable conjuncture in industry, construction and retail trade.

In September 2019, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 653.6 thousand or by 3.2% above the registered in September 2018. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in September 2019 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 43.9%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purposes - 35.8%, and with professional purpose - 20.3%.
In September 2019, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 286.4 thousand or by 2.9% less in comparison with September 2018. In September 2019, the predominant share of the visits with holiday and recreation purpose was 46.6%, followed by trips with other purposes - 39.1%, and with professional purpose - 14.3%.
In 2018, the government deficit and debt of the EU-28 decreased compared to 2017. In the EU-28 the government deficit to GDP ratio fell from 1.0% in 2017 to 0.7% in 2018. In the EU-28 the government debt to GDP ratio declined from 82.1% at the end of 2017 to 80.4% at the end of 2018.
Despite the observed increase in the value of final output in agriculture by 2.7%, the income of agricultural holdings in 2018 decreased compared to the previous year. Gross value added decreased by 2.5%, net operating surplus / mixed income by 5.4% and net entrepreneurial income by 8.7%.
According to final data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Institutional Sector reported in 2018 a surplus of 1 921 million BGN or 1.8% of GDP.
The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2018 is 24 431 million BGN or 22.3% of GDP.
The consumer price index in September 2019 compared to August 2019 was 99.7%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.3%.
In the period January - July 2019 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 4.8% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 22 629.6 Million BGN while the imports from the EU increased by 2.1% and reached 23 842.7 Million BGN.
In July 2019 the exports to the EU increased by 3.0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 600.0 Million BGN while the imports grew by 4.9% and added up to 3 740.7 Million BGN.
In the period January - August 2019 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 4.3% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 12 118.0 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries decreased by 5.3% and added up to 13 813.9 Million BGN.
In the period January - August 2019 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 37 900.9 Million BGN, which is 3.8% more than the same period of 2018, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 40 779.6 Million BGN and dropped by 0.4%.
In August 2019, 3 391 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 141.7 thousand and the bed-places were 325.4 thousand. In comparison with August 2018, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 5.0%, and the bed-places in them - by 1.5%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in August 2019 was 6 410.5 thousand, or by 5.4% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in August 2019 reached 377.8 million BGN or by 8.6% more compared to August 2018.
According to the preliminary data, in August 2019 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.2% below the level of the previous month. In August 2019 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 3.4% in comparison with the same month of 2018.
