Предмет на изследването е установяването участие на лицата на възраст от 25 до 64 години в различни видове учебни дейности.</p><p>The Adult Education Survey (AES) covers adults’ participation in education and training (formal - FED, non-formal - NFE and informal learning - INF). The 2022 AES focuses on people aged 18-69. Най-често срещаните форми на неформалното обучение са курсове, частни уроци, семинари и работни срещи с обучителен характер, обучение на работното място и инструктажи по безопасност на труда. implemented in the interviewing application was working well.</li></ul><p>Disadvantages:</p><ul><li>Respondents burden – although the new application has improved the fieldwork, the respondents considered the interview as lengthy, requiring a lot of time and caused negative attitude;</li><li>Difficulties for respondents to answer some questions:<ul style="list-style-type:circle;"><li>The 12 months reference period caused difficulties to recall the details of the training;</li><li>Some respondents had difficulties to understand some of the questions and during the interview additional explanations and interpretations were required;</li><li>Questions on parental education/economic activity were considered as sensitive for some respondents;</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Problems using the electronic devices when conducting the survey in several small settlements with weak and unsteady internet connection;</li></ul><p>Outdated sampling frame caused a relative high non-response Analysis.</p><p><strong>Sampling design</strong></p><p>Three stage stratified sampling:</p><ul><li>on the first stage - the census enumeration units (PSU) were selected by PPS;</li><li>on the second stage - the households were identified by systematic random sampling;</li><li>on the third stage during the fieldwork a random household member in age frame was selected;</li><li>extra stage for selection of an additional member aged 18-24 (if there were any not selected at previous stage).</li></ul><p><strong>Stratification</strong></p><p>The sampling frame was stratified by administrative-territorial districts in the country (NUTS 3) and the household’s location (urban\rural). As a result 56 strata were formed. Municipalities and settlements were ranged according to the number of their population within each stratum.</p><p><strong>Sampling frame</strong></p><p>The sampling frame was based on the 2011 Population Census System, which is annually updated with data from the Information System “Demography” data (births and deaths) and changes on territorial or administrative-territorial unit from the National Register of populated places. Migration processes could not be tracked and recorded in the sampling frame. The updates had been performed before the AES sampling. Survey type was Face-to-face – computer assisted (CAPI) interview. Full pilot test of the national questionnaire was performed. The data tool (application for interviewing) was designed with additional controls and filters. There were added also extra checking rules by comparing the entered information between different related questions in order to confront possible inconsistent answers.</p><p>After finishing the work at regional level, the data was checked and validated again from the experts in the NSI's Head Office.
