April 16th is the Constitution Day and a professional celebration of jurists in Bulgaria. On this date, in 1879 was adopted the Tarnovo Constitution - the first Bulgarian constitution, which becomes the legislative basis for the socio-economic development of the newly-liberated state.
At the initiative of the Union of Jurists in Bulgaria this day has been celebrated since 1991.
